Walton Parish Council, Warrington- Resident Consultation 2026.
Your Parish Council is the most local level of government and exists to represent the interests of everyone who lives and works in the parish. It is made up of councillors who are elected by local residents or co-opted when vacancies arise, and who give their time voluntarily to help make the parish a better place to live.
The Parish Council acts as a voice for the community. It listens to residents’ views and concerns and raises them with Warrington Borough Council, developers, and other organisations. It also comments on planning applications, works to protect local amenities, and helps shape how the parish develops in the future.
Parish Councils are responsible for a range of local services and projects, which may include maintaining footpaths, open spaces, playgrounds, noticeboards and community buildings, supporting local events, groups and promoting community wellbeing. To fund this work, the Council sets a small annual charge (called a precept), which is included in your Council Tax. The Parish Council has kept the same precept for 2026-27.
Most importantly, the Parish Council is here for you. It provides a way for local people to have a direct say on what happens in their community and how local priorities are set.
